Weaving for Everyone!
Learn to weave in Chelmsford
Perhaps you’re already a knitter or crocheter and looking to try out another branch of the fibre craft tree? Or perhaps you’ve always fancied learning to weave, but weren’t sure whether you wanted to invest in all the equipment?
This might be the solution for you!
Low-tech, low-cost weaving classes
Every third Tuesday of the month, you can join me at Patch in Chelmsford to try out a low-tech weaving technique! Doors open at 5.30 p.m., with the demonstration starting at around 6.00 p.m.
The classes are £10.00 per person, which includes all of the materials and equipment – and whatever you make of course!
Low-tech weaving, what’s that?
There isn’t an official definition, but I use the term “low-tech weaving” to refer to any kind of weaving that you can do using items that most people have around the house. You’d be amazed how much you can achieve using just a piece of cardboard, some scissors and a ruler.
Of course, this way of doing things is a lot slower than using ‘proper’ weaving equipment, but it’s also much more accessible, and doesn’t require you to spend loads of money on gadgets and gismos that you aren’t sure you’ll enjoy using.
What sort of things do you teach?
Well, this is the fun bit – you get to decide!
If you sign up to the newsletter, not only can you stay up to date on all the upcoming dates and events, but you also get to vote on the techniques covered. When the monthly newsletter comes out, it will include a brief description of the three options for the next session and a link to vote!
And if your favourite option doesn’t win? Don’t worry – it will stay in the list for next time.
